Color Club's Lava Lamp with Dior's Indian Saffron + an attack of a killer balcony window

Nyt vuorossa ihanan kesäinen lakkaus. Color Clubin Lava Lamp on räväkkä neonoranssi creme. Se on yksinäänkin aivan upea sävy, mutta nyt kaipasin väriin hiukan lisää syvyyttä ja kuorrutin sen Diorin persikkaisella, läpikuultavalla Indian Saffron lakalla jossa on paljon micro-glitteriä.

Ensimmäisessä kuvassa kynsillä on kerros OPI NNS ja kaksi kerrosta Lava Lamp lakkaa.

Toisessa kuvassa päälle on lisätty kaksi kerrosta Diorin Indian Saffronia ja Seche Vite kuivattamaan.

Sitten näettekin eilen aamulla tapahtuneen parvekelasionnettomuuden tuloksen. Vasemman etusormen kynsi repeytyi oikein kunnolla ja aiheutti pienimuotoisen verilöylyn. Voin kertoa, että sattui ja sattuu edelleen! Revennyt osa on edelleen kiinni tuossa kynsipedissä pienellä riekaleella ja eipä pysty sitä siitä irrottamaan, kun sattuu tajuttomasti. Siinähän se sitten osuu johonkin 5 minuutin välein aiheuttaen mukavia kiljahduksia. Viilasin kynttä vielä varovasti lyhyemmäksi kuvan ottamisen jälkeen ja yritän nyt selvitä laastarin voimin seuraavat pari viikkoa jos se kynsi vähän kasvaisi takaisin kynsipedin suojaksi.

Nyt pitää hetki selvitä yksi kynsi muita lyhyempänä, kun en kaikkia halua ihan superlyhyiksi viilata :/ No onneksi täällä äitiyslomalla ei kukaan pahemmin mun kynsiä katsele :P

Oh the horror!!!

Here's a nice summer-y manicure. Color Club Lava Lamp is bright neon orange creme. It's really cool on it's own but this time I wanted some depth to the shade so I added Dior Indian Saffron on top of it. Indian Saffron is sheer, peachy color which has a lot of micro-glitter in it.

In the first photo I have one coat of OPI NNS and two coats of Lava Lamp.

On the Second pic I have added two coats of Dior Indian Saffron and a coat of Seche Vite on top.

In the last pic you see what happened to my poor nail yesterday morning. Killer balcony window attacked my left index finger nail and almost tore the whole thing off. I can tell you that really HURT and it actually still does! The torn part is still attached and it's hanging by a tiny bit of nail. I don't have the balls to remove it cos it hurts way too much. Now I keep hitting it everywhere and screaming every 5 mins. I filed the nail as short as I could after taking that pic and now I try to survive with a little help from a band aid for the next couple of weeks.

Now I'm also gonna have to live with one nail shorter than the others for a while cos I don't want to cut all of my nails super short. At least I'm on a maternity leave and no one pays attention to my nails here at home :P

China Glaze - Golden Spurs

Kaiken glitteryliannostuksen ja tuon viimeisen ällöttävän puolelle menevän manikyyrin jälkeen teki mieli jotain hiukan hillitympää lakkaa ;) China Glazen Golden Spurs olikin tähän ihan sopiva. Olen tämän hankkinut jo aikoja sitten, mutta nyt vasta kokeilin ensimmäistä kertaa. Minulla onkin laatikossa niin monta pullollista kokeilemattomia lakkoja, että tein päätöksen olla ostamatta yhtään uutta ennenkuin kaikki jo olemassa olevat on korkattu. Tosin annan itselleni luvan lipsua tästä päätöksestä jos jotain ylitsepääsemättömän hienoa tulee vastaan paljon normaalia halvemmalla hinnalla.

Golden Spurs on China Glazen Fall 2008 Rodeo Diva kokoelmasta. Kaunis hiekanruskea lakka jossa on paljon kultaista shimmeriä. Tämä on koostumukseltaan ohutta ja levittyy täydellisesti. Kaksi kerrosta riitti peittämään ja Seche Viten avulla kuivui todella nopeasti.

After that glitter overdose and the last mani that was about as attractive as dog puke I decided to go for something a little more subtle. China Glaze Golden Spurs was perfect for that. I got this ages ago but never tried it until now. I have so many polishes that I have never tried and I've had them for a long time now. So I made a decision not to buy any nail polish until I have worn all the polishes I have at least once. Though I'll let myself slip if I run into some extremely gorgeous polish for a great price.

Golden Spurs is from China Glaze Fall 2008 Rodeo Diva collection. Beautiful golden sand-y brown shade with a lot of gold shimmer. This is thin in the bottle and applies like a dream. Took only two coats to be opaque and dried really fast.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Golden Spurs x2 and Seche Vite on top.

French mani with glitter vol. 2

Lisäsin eiliseen ranskikseen vielä tarroja ja pilkkuja Color Clubin Electro Candy lakalla dotting toolia apuna käyttäen. Hiukan liian söpöinen minun makuuni, mutta laitetaan nyt kuva näytille kuitenkin ;) En tiedä koska opin etteivät tälläiset koristelut ole mun juttu. Muilla hienoja, mutta omissa kynsissä näyttää typerältä :P


This is yesterday's mani. I added butterflies and made some dots with Color Club Electro Candy using a dotting tool. A little too cute for my taste but I'll post the pic anyways ;) I don't know when I'll learn that decorations like this just aren't my thing :P Thank goodness for nail polish remover!

French mani with glitter

Jatketaan glitter teemalla. Tässä ihan ranskis glitter kuorrutteella. Löysin laatikon pohjalta Trind Nail Stickers for French Manicure tarroja ja heti niitä käytettyäni muistin taas elävästi miksi ne olivat laatikon pohjalle aikanaan unohtuneet. Tarraosasta jää tahmaa kynteen, tarrat eivät siitä huolimatta liimannu kunnolla kiinni ja rajasta ei tule tasainen. Tarra on myös liian suora ja itse pidän kaarevammasta valkoisesta rajasta. Vastoinkäymisistä huolimatta jatkoin kuitenkin lakkausta ja kuorrutin sähellykset glitterillä.

Kuvassa ensin yksi kerros OPI NNS, kärjissä OPI Alpine Snow ja glitterlakkana Color Club Si Vous Please! Koko hässäkän kuivatin Seche Viten avulla.

Ei täydellinen, mutta ihan kiva kuitenkin. Ensi kerralla voisi koittaa glitterin alle vielä jotain vaaleanpunaista ja tehdä kärjet ilman tarroja.

Let's continue with glitter. Here's a french mani with glitter. I found a package of Trind Nail Stickers for French Manicure thingies and as soon as I used them I vividly remembered why they were forgotten in the first place. They leave glue goo on your nails and yet they don't stick well enough to create a sharp straight line. Also I like the white line to be a little more curved than what these stickers are. Regardless of all this I decided to continue my mani and covered the whole mess with some glitter polish.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS, OPI Alpine Snow on the tips and Color Club Si Vous Please! to cover everything. Seche Vite on top to dry the whole thing.

Not perfect but allright. Next time I could try some sheer pink polish under the glitter and free hand the tips.

Color Club Pardon My French Collection - Part 3

Tässä sitten niitä glittereitä kerrostettuina ja näin ne ovatkin ehdottomasti parhaimmillaan.

Turn The Other Chic lakan kerrostin viiden eri lakan kanssa ja lopputulos näytti tosi kivalta. Neon vihreästä Color Club Feelin' Groovy lakasta tuli hauska ruohon/ydinjätteenvihreä, tosi ihana sävy. Mustan lakan päällä esiin tuli kullan-vihertävä sävy ja valkoisen päällä se näytti hailakin keltaiselta. Kirkkaan keltaisen Color Club Almost Famous lakan kanssa lopputulos oli pirteä ja raikas.

Otin myös kuvat Oh Naturale ja I Believe In Amour lakoista yhdellä kerroksella.

Nämä olivat vain pikaisia testailuja eli kuvissa ei ole alus- tai päällyslakkaa.

Here are the glitters layered with creme polishes and they definitely look the best this way.

I layered Turn The Other Chic with five polishes and the results looked really good. It changed the neon-green Color Club Feelin' Groovy into more grassy/nuclear green, very cool looking shade. It also gave black polish a hint of golden green. It was nice and pale over white creme and very bright and fresh looking on bright yellow Color Club Almost Famous.

I also took new pics of Oh Naturale and I Believe In Amour with just one coat on.

Color Club Pardon My French Collection - Part 2

Tänään vuorossa Pardon My French kokoelman glitterlakat. Nämä ovat läpikuultavia ja sisältävät moniväristä glitteriä.

Hot Couture on pullossa persikkainen, mutta ei jätä kynnelle kovinkaan paljon sävyä.

Turn The Other Chic on hauska keltainen glitter lakka ja tämä on näistä peittävin.

Si Vous Please! on hieman sinertävä ja erittäin läpikuultava. Tuo pieni sinertävyys kuitenkin aiheuttaa sen, että hiukan kellastuneet kynnenpäät näyttävät lakan läpikuultavuudesta huolimatta vitivalkoisilta kahden kerroksen jälkeen. Niinpä tätä voi huoletta käyttää ihan yksinäänkin.

Nämä glitterit ovat parhaimmillaan kerrostettuina saman kokoelman creme lakkojen kanssa ja siitä kirjoittelen lisää huomisessa postauksessa :)

Here are the glitter polishes from the Pardon My French collection. These are very sheer and have multicolored glitter in them.

Hot Couture is peachy looking in the bottle but doesn't leave much color on the nails.

Turn The Other Chic is fun yellow glitter and gives most coverage out of these three.

Si Vous Please! is clear slightly blue tinted polish. The hint of blue saves the day in this polish and even if it's very sheer my yellow-ish nail tips look bright white with this one so you can wear it alone too.

These work the best when layered with the creme polishes from this collection and I'll show you pics of that tomorrow :)

Color Club Pardon My French Collection - Part 1

Parempi kai myöhään kuin ei milloinkaan. Tässä vihdoin kuvia Color Clubin Pardon My French kokoelmasta. Sain tämän kokoelman jo alkuvuodesta, mutta vauvan syntymän aiheuttaman kroonisen aikapulan vuoksi näiden swatchaus venyi tänne asti.

Kiva kokoelma jossa on seitsemän eri sävyä, neljä cremeä ja kolme glitteriä.

Kuvissa ainoastaan värilakka, ilman alus- tai päällyslakkaa. Tässä postauksessa kokoelman neljä creme lakkaa. Glitterit ovat vuorossa huomenna.

Better late than never I guess. I finally have the pics of the Color Club Pardon My French Collection. I got these early this year but since the baby came I've had absolutely no time at all to swatch these until now.

This is a great collection with seven shades, four cremes and three glitter polishes.

On these photos I only have the polish on, no base or topcoat. On this post I'll show you the creme ones and tomorrow I'll post about the glitters.

Nämä ovat jälleen oikein hyvälaatuisia lakkoja. Ainoa jonka kanssa minulla oli hieman ongelmia levityksessä oli Pardon My French. Sekin varmasti toimisi hiukan tarkemmalla sutimisella ja paremmalla kärsivällisyydella huomattavasti mukavammin.

Oh Naturale ja I Believe In Amour ovat ohuita ja läpikuultavia lakkoja, jotka näyttävät hyvältä ja tasaiselta jo yhdellä kerroksella. Itseasiassa pidän niistä eniten juurin silloin kun kynnellä on ainoastaan yksi kerros ja kuvaankin ne vielä myöhemmin niin.

Take Me To Your Chateau taas on todella pigmenttinen ja peittää jo ensimmäisellä kerroksella.

These were once again good Color Club quality. The only one I had a slight problem in application was Pardon My French and that would work better too with a little more time and patience when working with it.

Oh Naturale and I Believe In Amour are sheer ones and work great starting from the first coat. I actually prefer them better with just one coat and I'll have to photograph them that way too.

Take Me To Your Chateau is well pigmented and is opaque with just one coat.
